Overview

The 2010 Dodge Caliber is an efficient five-door package with all-new interior features. It has been designed to appeal to global markets as an entry-level vehicle exuding a bold styling and superior SUV functionality. Its unconventional two-box design provides space-efficient packaging with great proportions, while offering high value. The new Caliber is available in Caliber Express, Caliber Heat, Caliber Mainstreet, Caliber Uptown and Caliber Rush models.

Power and performance

The FWD Caliber is powered two efficient Chrysler World Engines. The first engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Dual Overhead Cam 16-valve dual Variable Valve Timing engine that churns out 158 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 141 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. The second engine is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Dual Overhead Cam 16-valve dual Variable Valve Timing engine rated at 172 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 165 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission is standard. The cargo capacity stands at 18.5 cubic feet. The caliber's maximum towing capacity is 1500 lbs.

Body and styling

The all new redesigned interior includes a new instrument panel with a center storage bin, bright accents, a center console with a padded armrest split-lid for added storage, and soft-touch door-trim panel. Chromed accents brighten new heating, ventilation and AC vents, shift bezel and cluster rings. The LED-illuminated cup holders are easy to use. MusicGate Power Sound System, a nine-speaker Boston Acoustics premium sound system with rear articulating speakers, chill zone cooled beverage storage bin, removable and rechargeable cargo light, 115-volt center console power outlet and fold-flat front-passenger seat are the key options. The standard 60/40 split fold-flat rear seats are available with recline feature.
