Overview

The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 heavy-duty pickup is available in three cab styles: regular, Crew Cab and Mega Cab. It has been fully redesigned with revised suspension tuning, updated styling and a new crew cab model.

Power and performance

A 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-6 rated at an impressive 350 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque is standard. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual with an option for a six-speed automatic. The Cummins engine is equipped with a big-rig-like exhaust brake which provides additional stability and braking power when towing very heavy loads. The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 tows up to 17,600 pounds when properly equipped.

Body and styling

The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Regular Cabs (ST and SLT trims) are available with a long bed only. The Crew Cab (ST, SLT and Laramie trims) comes in a short or long cargo bed. The Mega Cab (SLT and Laramie) cruises on the same wheelbase as the Crew Cab long bed but pairs an even bigger cabin with the short bed. The Ram ST rides on 17-inch steel wheels with vinyl upholstery and flooring, cruise control, a tilt steering wheel, a 40/20/40-split front bench seat, air-conditioning, and a six-speaker stereo system with a CD player. The Crew Cabs get standard Power windows while regular cabs have manual cranks. The SLT features chrome-clad wheels, heated side mirrors, chrome exterior trim, a sliding rear window, cloth upholstery, full power accessories, keyless entry and satellite radio. The SLT Crew Cab and Mega Cab Rams can be upgraded to the Big Horn package with fog lights, brighter quad headlights, chrome grille a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, universal garage door opener and trailer brake control. The Laramie rolls on polished alloy wheels and is equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth and an upgraded nine-speaker surround-sound system with a 30 GB music server and iPod integration.

Safety Features

Antilock disc brakes and side curtain airbags are among the standard safety features. Power adjustable pedals are standard on the Laramie but optional on the SLT. Trailer brake control is an option on all trims.
